The Financial Analyst II is a key member of the finance department assisting multiple business units by providing real-time analysis over profitability, spending and dashboard reporting.
This position requires a meticulous, detail-oriented and highly analytical team member. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate pricing data, analyzing margins, and supporting various operational aspects related to vendor pricing changes, customer-specific pricing, and item management. This team member will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Performance Analysis
- Analyze key financial drivers impacting company performance, including customer profitability and departmental costs.
- Support various departments by providing detailed insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Assist with the accumulation, tracking, and analysis of KPIs, offering actionable recommendations for improvements.
Pricing and Margin Management
- Maintain and update vendor price changes to ensure accuracy in pricing databases.
- Perform margin analysis at both customer- and item-specific levels to optimize profitability.
- Manage Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs), collaborating with the Sales team for renewals and expirations.
- Coordinate customer-specific pricing strategies in collaboration with Sales to support strategic initiatives.
Accounting Support
- Lead Buyback reconciliations, including rates and delivery fees.
- Manage OSP adjustments and tax reimbursements.
- Oversee system clean-up and manage item and customer inactivation based on established criteria.
- Implement mass updates and changes via CSV uploads into NetSuite to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory corrections and address work order/assembly build issues.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare ad-hoc reports on key sales performance metrics, including volume and profitability.
- Lead monthly and quarterly reporting processes, including Bulk to Barrel conversions, XOM gallon accruals, customer rebates, and index customer maintenance.
- Lead cross-functional projects such as Hecla Greens Conversion, Hecla Greens Rebate Process, Product Return, and IRM Deadstock Sell.
Vendor and Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for major vendors, addressing pricing and operational issues as necessary.
Required Education and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance or pricing role, with a demonstrated ability to support accounting initiatives and drive financial analysis.
Minimum Qualifications and Core Competencies
- Proficient in troubleshooting, researching, and resolving issues within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365, with advanced skills in Excel and data management tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical thinker with independent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams and foster positive working relationships.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to process improvement initiatives
