Position Summary

As the Operations Director, you will collaborate on developing business strategies and implementing them on a day-to-day basis.  We seek a mentor and change agent who can assist our client in growing the business while improving efficiency and profit in collaboration with the management team and Principal Owner.

Leadership

  • Develop and execute business strategies for sustainable growth and risk management.
  • Work with business leaders on strategic planning for organizational change and growth.
  • Lead change initiatives and support employee adaptation to organizational shifts.
  • Develop strategies to foster organizational culture, employee engagement and performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity to drive continuous improvement.

Supervisory Duties

  • This position will supervise multiple different departmental managers and is responsible for understanding policies and processes related to those groups.
  • Direct supervision of Accounting Manager, Production Manager, Supply Chain Manager and Shipping Lead.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching for professional development at all levels.
  • Supervise internal operations and evaluate department managers’ performance.

Business Operations

  • Manage costs, implement initiatives for profit optimization, enhance financial performance, and process enhancement.
  • Analyze performance data, interpret findings, and develop relevant business metrics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align budgeting and financial planning.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements for improved operational efficiency.’
  • Monitor audits and ensure precise financial reporting. Strong working knowledge of accounting and finance, internal accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Delegate tasks to enhance employee performance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage partnerships and support expansion efforts.
  • In partnership with Principal Owner
    • Execute company-wide strategies to achieve organizational goals.
    • Develop and implement policies to cultivate a positive company culture.
    • Monitor and assess risks, implementing preventative measures.
    • Establish measurable, achievable, and clear strategic business goals.

  • Ability to exercise good judgement, diplomacy, and to make decisions prudently.
  • Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.
  • Education may vary; an advanced degree in business administration, or finance is preferred, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a complex environment serving multiple constituencies and stakeholders.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • MRP and/or ERP program experience.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience working in administration, project management, or related functions in an organization.
