Job Description

Position Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for establishing and maintaining customer relationships that lead to the successful achievement of company sales goals. Responsibilities include providing excellent internal and external customer service, order taking, management of customer inquiries, and analysis of data trends, all while supporting our clients core values.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prospect and Generate Leads: Identify potential customers through research, networking, and cold calling. Develop and execute strategies to convert leads into long-term customers.

• Customer Engagement: Identify decision-makers and drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sale.

• Qualification: Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and identify cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.

• Consultative Selling: Consult with customers and prospects on business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each. Work with technical staff and product specialists to address customer requirements and interests.

• Proposal Management: Draft and deliver proposals that meet customer needs and drive sales.

• Presentations: Make presentations to senior managers and decision-makers, showcasing the benefits and features of our fuel and lubricant products.

• Account Management: Maintain communications with internal personnel to ensure efforts are in line with sales and operational objectives. Document and maintain accurate CRM sales report information.

• Strategic Planning: Work with the Sales Director to determine the necessary strategic sales approach. Plan and organize the day to meet organizational objectives outlined by the Sales Director.

• Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors. Provide feedback to management on market conditions, product innovations, and competitive activities.

• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status. Prepare regular reports for management on sales performance and forecasts.

• Goal Achievement: Meet both present and long-term sales goals and quotas.

• Customer Service: Provide excellent internal and external customer service by addressing and resolving customer complaints and issues promptly.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Core Competencies

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales

• Strategic customer management and relationship-building skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
