Summary: Responsible for managing payroll processing operations for our client and multiple subsidiary companies. Establishes and enforces policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions resulting in accurate and on-time reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Accurately complete bi-weekly payroll.
- Directs the resolution of complex issues or errors within the team and/or third-party payroll provider.
- Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and company’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Works with tax and human resources team on payroll related issues.
- Provides counsel to managers on payroll matters.
- Conducts routine audits on timekeeping and payroll matters to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
