From small beginnings in the early ‘60s to becoming a leader in drilling services, ranging from small exploratory projects to multi-million-dollar construction projects throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, South America, and Africa, our client continues to grow expand their services to the construction and water industries.

We are seeking a highly detailed, reliable, and experienced Payroll Manager that thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in weekly construction payroll, preferably with multi-state experience.

Job Duties

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly basis for 30–50+ employees across multiple states
  • Create and review Certified Payroll reports for subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
  • Ensure accurate and timely multi-state payroll tax filings and quarterly/year-end reporting
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Develop and implement process improvements for increased payroll efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
  • Stay informed on changing tax laws, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions
  • Maintain employee records and payroll data integrity within the payroll system

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience; construction or union payroll background strongly preferred
  • Experience with Certified Payroll and multi-state payroll regulations
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within tight deadlines
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and security
  • Experience using construction/payroll software systems
  • Ability to stay updated on payroll regulations, tax laws, and best practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
