Our client is a well-established local Eugene, OR company with 50-60 employees, operating across multiple states. They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team and help manage the complexities of their payroll operations. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly/biweekly payroll for 50-60 employees using SAGE software
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and multistate payroll regulations
- Manage payroll tax filings, deductions, and adjustments for employees across various states
- Maintain accurate employee records, including hours worked, wages, and deductions
- Administer benefit contributions and garnishments as required
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and ensure timely payments
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws, including changes related to prevailing wage
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any issues
- Assist in year-end payroll reporting and W-2 preparation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficiency in SAGE payroll software is a must
- Strong understanding of prevailing wage and multistate payroll regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in managing payroll processes
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
