The University Housing Painter will work within the University of Oregon Housing residence halls to paint resident rooms and common area spaces. Spaces may be occupied and include large pieces of furniture that will need to be pulled away from the wall to paint. There is a lead painter providing direction on assignments and tasks, but painters do work independently.
Pay Rate and Meal Plan Benefit
- $22.00/hour
- When the employee works at least 5 hours per day, they receive a meal in specific Housing Dining venues for $3.00.
Job Duties
- Preparing surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, cleaning, and removing old paint
- Filling cracks and holes with appropriate materials
- Masking and covering fixtures, laying drop cloths, etc.
- Applying paint using various tools (brushes, rollers, spray guns)
- Cleaning up paint tools
- Following safety procedures and wearing protective gear
- Lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Bending and kneeling
